From 08-10 October 2021
Formula One will back to the fan-favorite Istanbul Park for the 2021 Turkish Grand Prix for the first time since 2011.
Although many changes have taken place in F1 racing over the past nine years, the most obvious being the V6 turbo hybrid engine instead of the standard V8, the driver's situation is still quite similar.
In 2011, Red Bull and Sebastian Vettel dominated the sport. The German racing driver won the last Turkish Grand Prix that year.
That win helped Vettel on his way to the second of four consecutive World Championships, but it continues until 2021 and Lewis Hamilton is currently in an even more dominant phase.
Mercedes has completed the seventh consecutive constructors' championship, and Hamilton is preparing to win his sixth championship in seven years at the Turkish Grand Prix and set a record for the seventh world championship.
If Hamilton wins the Turkish Grand Prix 2021, then the game is over and the title is his. However, if his Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas wins and does not require extra points for the fastest lap, then P2 will also bring the title to Hamilton.
